Physical and Mechanical Characterization of Lime Pastes and Mortars for Use in Restoration

Slaked lime is traditionally a suitable material for use in construction activities historic and traditional buildings whose constitutive characteristics demand compatible appropriate solutions. Therefore, knowing the physical mechanical characterization of pastes mortars restoration considered an important step process scientific development that, Mexican case, has lacked rigor its production, commercialization. With this mind, present article aims to investigate that have been used way new limes exist market, offering options restoration, which integrated methodology was consisting tests such as surface area, electrical resistivity, pulse velocity, colorimetry, compressive strength, giving result “traditional slaked” more likely deteriorate than powdered lime, leads us conclude hydrated optimal activities.
